The Phamlee Has Gone Mobile
I switched up the settings of The Phamlee blog so the format is now different for "mobile" users. Check us out on your iPhone, Android or other waste of money you have and let me know what you think.
North Shore Fix
I have not been able to ride on the North Shore since early last season but have come across a few good videos of others lately. The quality and man hours that go into these trails always amazes me. You probably have to be a mountain biker to enjoy these videos...or somebody that appreciates good craftsmanship. Our computer has been pissing me off lately which is the reason for the lack or "twin" related material; it is very slow to upload etc. I am working fixing it so hopefully more Cohen and Kyah soon!

Geocaching: Chilliwack River Valley
Yesterday I took the twins and one of their friends Geocaching around the Chilliwack River Valley; there is an ass load of caches in that area and we found three of them. Not all of the caches had treasure in them as one was a microcache which was the first one of those we found and another was a cement mushroom that somebody had written "this is a geocache" on; needless to say we were a little disapointed with the first two but it was still cool to find them. The third one had some "treasure" in it and once we used the GPS to get to the general area it was Cohen that actually found it. It was cool to see they are catching on and I was impressed he actually found it. Anyways, enjoy the pictures...

Cohen Ice Skating & Kyah...Being Weird
6 Weeks ago Cohen could not even stand up on his skates so I think he has progressed well. Here is an unedited clip of Cohen skating and Kyah goofing around. As always the best quality is through the direct Youtube Link.
Something Funny for Your Monday
Something funny to watch while I upload a video of Cohen ice skating; should be done tonight. Hopefully you don't have to be a mountain biker to find this funny. It makes me think if the "Al Qaeda Drifter," I will see if I can find that and post it too...Edit - Found the Arab Drifter; it is the second video

Geocaching: Mt Thom
I took Cohen & Kyah Geocaching up Mt. Thom yesterday. The cache was up the top of the hill so it was a tough slog for the Twins in the snow. In hindsight it probably wasnt my best idea this week as Kyah was very whiny on the walk. I thought she was being her usual self but it turns out she was actually very tired. She fell asleep on the drive home and then asked to have a nap in her bed, which never happens. Enjoy the pictures...

Geocaching at Cultus
I had an optional day of work today as the stock markets were closed due to Family Day back east and Presidents Day is the US; I took the option not to work. In the spirit of Family Day I took Cohen and Kyah to Cultus Lake Provincial Park for some treasure hunting (i.e. Geocaching). It was a little chilly and snowed off and on but we managed to find two caches! Here are a few pictures of the happy hunters...

Winter Campfire
Yesterday Chelsey asked me what I wanted to do. I said "lets have a campfire and make hot dogs." So after Cohen's skating lesson we booted up to Jones Lake for a campfire and boy was the scenery nice. The lake was frozen over with at least a foot of ice and there was a bit of snow around but really it was all good. The kids were great except for a short period of whining about being cold, we didn't bring snow suits. Chelsey made the kids a snow slide while I built the fire and the kids said they had fun. Enjoy the pictures...
BC Parks: Cypress Mountain Provincial Park
Chelsey had got me a gift certificate for two to go snowshoeing on Cypress. We finally cashed in last weekend and headed up for our guided tour. There were supposed to be other people in our group but no else showed up so Chelsey and I got a private tour. It is something we both had wanted to do for a while so we were stoked to go. The plan is to take the kids next time as I think they would enjoy it. We also scratched off another BC Park on our 50 Things to Do List. Enjoy the pictures...

Kids First Skating Lessons
We took the kids for their first ice skating lessons yesterday. It was more a lesson on how to stand up unassisted. There was no crying or whining so I guess we can say it was a success. Here are the photo's of Cohen and Kyah's first time on the ice...
Could it be True?
With bad weather forecast's this winter and fall I have officially lost faith in those buggers. Last week we were supposed to get at least 10cm of snow and got nothing. Yesterday we were supposed to have nothing and got a little dusting. The picture below shows what we got in about 30 minutes and then we had flurries for the rest of the night so we ended up with a few centimeters overall. Now, as you can see from the forecast below they are calling for a shitload of snow later this week. The only reason I am somewhat optimistic about that forecast is that The Weather Network has been a lot more accurate then Environment Canada; fingers crossed that The Weather Network is right again and we get dumped on!!!
New Years 2010/2011
This year we spent the New Years weekend in Campbell River visiting Kim, Nick and Baby Easton. We went for Chinese buffet one night and had Turducken another night. To work it all off Nick and I took the kids Geocaching a couple of times. Here we have a couple of pictures of the weekend.

It is in My Blood
It seems that fishing is in my blood and that could be why I like it; I wonder if any past relatives were bike riders too...Tom Woods is my Papa (My Dad's Dad).
Steelhead Fishing on the Chilliwack River
When Kim & Nick were over at Christmas time Nick, my Dad and Myself went fishing for "The Fish of a Thousand Casts" aka a Steelhead. Obviously as Nick is such a bad fisherman we didnt catch anything but Dad got a bunch of good photos...
