As most of you know we spent last Friday through to Tuesday morning at Disneyland and then Tuesday through to Friday at Mission Beach in San Diego; this post will be dedicated to our Disneyland trip and a San Diego one will follow.
Having not been to Disneyland since I was 5 I was not sure what to expect but I must say it was way more than whatever I was expecting. We all had so much fun and can not wait until we go back. On the Friday we rolled in to the hotel just before two and then went straight to Disneyland. I could write in detail about everything we did but I will try and keep the post brief. The first big ride we went on was the Thunder Mountain roller coaster and initially Cohen hated it and was scared and Kyah loved it, as they days went on Cohen began to enjoy the roller coasters a bit more and Kyah was fearless and would go on anything and everything she could. Cohen's favorite rides were anything where he would get wet; this may have something to do with the fact that we hit the hottest day of the year on Saturday when the temperature hit 41 degrees!
The highlight of the trip for Kyah was probably the character dinner we did at Aerials Grotto where we got to have a nice meal and meet a bunch of the different Disney Princesses'. The highlight for Cohen would probably have been when he got picked for the Jedi Training Academy which is where he used to learn is Lightsabre and even had to battle Darth Vader - I will post a video of this later. The kids did great and we really did not have to wait in too many super long line ups except for when we wanted to go on the new Cars ride in Cars Land; and I must say the wait was worth it! We got to check out a bunch of the different shows and hit up lots of the rides on both the Disneyland and California Adventure Park sides; obviously we could not do or see everything in just 4 days but we can do the things we missed next time.
Another thing I learned about Disneyland close to our trip was about the Trading Pins. Since I found out about these at the end I didn't have the chance to take part but as somebody who likes to collect stuff (Hockey cards, pins found in Geocaches, etc) I am looking forward to trading some pins next time I am there. The other thing that was really cool, other than all the rides, shows, special effects, etc. was how clean everything was and the perfect condition of all the gardens. I cannot imagine the size of the maintenance staff that must work there at night but I plan on researching the details of what makes Disneyland run in the near future as it must be some cray numbers.
I will now stop my babbling and show you the pictures. I have tried something different for pictures this time trying to get better detail in the pictures. To see the pictures you need to click on the link below and then the easiest way to see them is to click on the Slideshow button on the top right. If the link does not work let me know and I will try something else.
