This long weekend the kids, Aro (Rotary Exchange Student) and I decided to hit the road for Campbell River and leave Mum at home for a "relaxing" time, even though she has to work a bit. I think this is the longest time the kids have been away from Chelsey so we shall see how they are by the end of the weekend; I have taken them camping for two nights and to Salmon Arm for two nights but never away for three nights.
After working for a couple of hours this morning we left Chilliwack at 9:00am and although we made no stops for gas, coffee, lunch, peeing, etc we still did not arrive in Campbell River until 4:30 - Thank you BC Ferries. Luckily though there is lots of stuff to do at the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal so the day went very smooth. While we were waiting for the ferry we grabbed a quick geocache and played at the park. We also grabbed some pizza by the slice that was $1.79 and actually tasted damn good.
Once we arrived in Campbell River we went to Auntie Kim and Uncle Nick's place then scooted down to the beach for a camp fire and a picnic dinner with Auntie Kim and Uncle Nick as well as Uncle Nick's parents. The kids played lots and had tonnes of fun and considering how busy they were today I was nervous for a bedtime break down; even though they went to be 1.5 hours late they were great.

We found this Geocache just outside the ferry terminal |

Kyah and her dance pose Cohen being Cohen |

I quickly snapped this because Cohen looked so funny taking a whiz on his tippy toes, but then he moved just as I snapped this as the other dude walked in |

Aro is no better than Chelsey at road trips. |

You can't tell from this angle but Cohen found this piece of wood that looks exactly like a drill. |
Great pics Mike. I'm sure you will all have a great week-end. Love to all. Mom xoxox
